When you’re ready to balance your body in a nourishing healthy way and get your energy through the roof. The humble, popular green smoothie was my intro into more conscious living and eating and I always share it as one way to ease into plant-based detox lifestyle.

Like all our recipes, this will get you glowing, too.

I love to recommend green smoothies when I get asked how to transition into a healthier, plant-based lifestyle - on the way to a full on detox lifestyle, which I share more about here. Green smoothies are chock-full of fibre and alkalizing greens, as the name clearly suggests. Alkalizing our bodies is such a huge step to vibrant health. Those who come from a very acidic diet need to take it easy with fruit until the excess acidity is detoxified over time from the body. And getting our body alkaline is a process as these days most of us are in a state of acidosis - the true reason behind all dis-eases and imbalances regardless of the name.

So we do include some fruit here, but balanced with the greens, it will be easy on the system. Fruit gets a bad rap - but it’s pretty much the fountain of youth. Here’s why.

I hope you enjoy this simple recipe and enjoy playing around with coming up with your own versions!

I find it hard someties to write recipes because my kitchen is a zone of experimtntion and it’s usually a msagical process of tasting, adding more this or that.. efore arrving at the final perfect taste and consistency.
